Hey everyone, it's Christal Marshall here, and I’m thrilled to welcome you back to my tiny garage studio!
Just yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to work with a talented fitness influencer who was looking for a basic yet classy athletic fitness shoot. I am so excited about how the photos turned out!
This experience really emphasizes that you don’t need elaborate setups or the highest-end gear to create stunning content.
With just a white corner, some boards from Home Depot, a bit of black fabric, and my trusty Godox ad200 lights, I was able to produce professional-quality images.
This is a little reminder for all you creators out there: just start creating! You can achieve amazing results without feeling pressured to have the best equipment.
Having been in photography for over 14 years, I’ve learned that it’s all about creativity and resourcefulness. Let me share a bit about my lighting setup for this shoot! I used two strip boxes, both equipped with Godox ad-200. I love using Godox systems because they’re compact and portable. The 300 packs are perfect for travel—no more struggling with bulky cords!
For some shots, I incorporated a spotlight, a fantastic tool I found on Amazon for around $100. It comes with interchangeable slides, which adds versatility to my shoots.
And my favorite piece of equipment? A beauty dish with a grid. It created beautiful shadows and defined cheekbones, adding that perfect touch to fitness and headshot content.
