Twix cookie with brown sugar drizzle- holiday DIY recipe to make with your kids





Enjoy this holiday season with this great DIY recipe to do with your kids!





Ingredients:


For the cookie dough: -

  • 2 cups of flour -

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda -

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt -

  • 1stick of butter -

  • 3 ounces (three mini Twix fun size) -

  • 1 cup brown sugar -

  • 1 egg -

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla -

  • 1/2cup whole milk


For glaze: -

  • 1 small Twix fun size -

  • 1 tablespoon butter -

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons hot water -

  • 2 tablespoons whole milk -

  • One cup brown sugar with a pinch of flour




Directions:

to make the cookies:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F -

  • Grease baking sheets or use silicon mats -

  • Mix flour, baking soda and salt and put aside in a bowl -

  • Cut butter into 1/2 inch chunks and put in a 3-quart saucepan -

  • Add the 3 Twix, and cook over low heat with the butter until melted -

  • Take the chocolate off of the heat, mix with a Wooden spoon and slowly store in sugar

  • Add egg, and vanilla and stir in a pot until smooth -

  • Go to the dry ingredients bowl and cut it in half by putting it in another bowl -

  • Use half of the dry ingredients and slowly mix in the butter and chocolate mixture and then slowly add a little bit more of the flour bowl -

  • Stir briskly so all the dough is smooth and is a giant ball -

  • Drop a big tablespoon of dough on the cookie sheet one by one 3 inches apart should make around 18 cookies -

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes (or if you need to bag a little bit more depending on your oven, do that) -

  • Let the cookies rest on the cookie sheet and on a cooling rack later


To make the glaze: -

  • Get a bigger size saucepan and fill it to 1/4 capacity with water -

  • Start to boil that water and put a smaller saucepan inside, this is called a double boiler system -

  • In the smaller saucepan melt another small Twix bar and the butter

  • Remove from heat when it’s melted add the hot water and milk, sugar and stir until smooth (if it needs a little thickening, add a pinch of flour) -

  • Glaze over the cookie tops carefully leave 1/4 inch clear all around the cookie edge, let it rest for at least 30 minutes, and enjoy -
